Saratoga Springs and Niskayuna Continuing Education Courses Supply Lists Beginning Quilted Landscapes Bring to first class: - 1" binder with rings - Variety of fabric pieces (fat quarter size or smaller) in different shades of each of following colors: greens, purples, browns. (If you have some at home already, bring some batik prints in these colors.) - Light blue or sky material *- about 6 by 24. - 1/2 yard of muslin - Fabric scissors - Straight pins - Pencil or pen - Plastic sleeves (to put handouts in)* - Thread/bobbins in shades of green/purple/brown OPTIONAL: - Cutting mat - Your sewing machine (I'm encouraging this as then you know how it works) * can be purchased from teacher Before first class: - Look at teacher's website gallery for ideas of what fabric pictures can be - Begin gathering 5-8 different landscape pictures/photographs that appeal to you. Put in your notebook. Intermediate Fabric Pictures - 1" binder - Fabric scissors - Paper scissors - Straight pins - Pencil or pen - Colored pencils - Plastic sleeves (to put handouts in)* - Cutting mat - Your sewing machine (NOT needed for first class) - Several pictures/ photographs (yours) that have more intricate detail and/or shading - Tracing paper - Scotch tape - Fine sharpie pen (black) You will also need material for your fabric picture, stabilizer, and fusible webbing.
