Brighten up your home with sunflowers. You choose the background, stem/leaf and flower colors, and overall size, and I'll sew it up for you!

Whether the flowers are in traditional yellows or resemble newer varieties with orange and burnt sienna petals, the vividness of these stately flowers will shine through. And if your sunflowers bloom in purples or blues in your imagination, that can be created also.

Piece comes with a sleeve at the back and a flat shim and wire; if you prefer, you can add your own dowel.

There are three covered bridges on the way from my house to my oldest grandson’s home. I have traversed Silk Road Bridge countless times on the way back and forth. When he was younger, I would ask “Which bridge? Silk Road, Paper Mill, or Henry?” and whichever one he selected would be our roadmap.

This matted fabric picture depicts the Silk Road Bridge from the bank on the northeast corner. Created from cotton and batik fabric, the piece is constructed using raw-edge applique technique and then mounted on a matboard. To Grandma’s House incorporated all the elements of my children’s trips to their Maine grandparents (the farmhouse, the pond, the horse and evergreen trees), while the house and trees were modeled from photos of a house down the road from where they grew up. I can create a similar wall hanging or canvas mounted piece from your photo and special memories.

The piece is created from cotton and batik fabrics with organza added for highlights. The snow is pieced, thread painting is used for details and landscape and house are attached using raw-edge applique technique. The whole piece has been quilted using free-motion quilting.
