]]> This White Spirit Owl looks out into the darkness of the night.  Is it a messenger of the spirit?  Is it offering wisdom and guidance?  Or is it serving as a guardian for those in the home?  While its eyes to hold an intense gaze, the tilt of this owl’s head reveals his sense of curiosity.

White Spirit Owl is one of the Spirit Birds of the Faces Collection. His wide hand-painted eyes reveal his role as a messenger, of hope and comfort.  His brothers are Grey Hawk Spirit Bird and Brown Spirit Owl.

All works have been handmade by me in my smoke-free home. From the initial painting of the eyes through cutting the feathers from fabric scraps and sewing them down on the background, this work of art changed over time into the riveting piece it is.  The nature of the Faces Collection may seem aabstract to some. My intent is to create works where the spirit and essence of each animal shone through its eyes.
