Fabric Art Class
March 28, 2020 at Quilt Bug in Schenectady, NY, 10:30am – 1:30pm
Longing for spring and there’s still snow outside your window? Come plant a fabric garden or bouquet.
In this 3-hour class, learn how to create flowers without using a pattern and also how to use photographs or drawings as your inspiration and/or pattern for more complicated designs. Learn how to look at fabric a tad differently when creating art. While this may sound impossible, it is as easy as doing kindergarten cutting. We’ll be using raw edge applique, tulle, and/or free motion quilting to keep our bouquets from walking away.
The focus of this class is on PROCESS, helping with the skill set and confidence necessary to create art pieces on your own. We will work to create two art pieces using different techniques. Time permitting, you then determine the degree to which you finish one or both. Materials for mounting on canvas or matting the artwork will be available for purchase from instructor.
