This grey cat portrait captures the piercing look of Mazie, the hunter. She is contemplating when to pounce on that pile of leaves that shifts back and forth in the breeze. All works have been handmade by me in my smoke-free home. From the initial painting of the eyes as part of The #100dayproject Challenge through cutting the feathers from fabric scraps and sewing them down on specially selected background, this work of art morfed over time into the colorful piece it is. While for some, the abstract nature of the Faces Collection may seem quirky, my intent was to create works where the spirit and essence of each animal shone through its eyes.
